Singers and songwriters at the BBCDid anyone catch this programme on Beeb4 last Sunday evening? One song from each of a number of singer/songwriters, including some that I wouldn't have thought of categorising as such (eg, Elton John - yes, I know he's written lyrics - and Johnny Nash - don't know much about him at all, but if he's really gonna make me an offer I can't refuse, I'd better do my homework).
Anyway, a 1974 version of Rab was on there singing Branch. Lindisfarne were name checked as the folk rock band that popularised another of his songs, Together Forever.
His former stable mates Stealers Wheel were on there too, singing Stuck in the Middle.

Yes, it was a nice stroll down memory lane. Some excellent performances from those featured. I sometimes forget that people like Elton John were at the cutting edge once.
