The Lindisfarne Story

Sue and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend Billy and Ray's sell-out concert at The Theatre By The Lake, Keswick last night.  The pair have put together a really polished and captivating Lindisfarne Story with a terrific selection of music, some of it surprising - but I say no more.  Their 2 hours-plus performance generated enthusiastic audience participation of the sing-along and arm-waving varieties and was rewarded at the end with a standing ovation.

If the show is coming to or near your neck of the woods, I'd heartily recommend you grab it now, while it's still on the road.

Always nice to meet up with the admirably energetic Derek Walmsley too - he arriving at the gig straight from some mountain-top trek!

Keswick

Great to meet up with Geoff and Sue - an excellent way to end a superb day's walking on the Fairfield Horseshoe with stunning views of the mountains- and the Red Arrows!

First class entertainment from Billy and Ray- with a completely unheard brief snippet of a cover version performed by the band during a John Peel session and which was only sent to Ray by a fan (who presumably recorded it off the radio at the time) a few days ago. To find out what the song was, you'll have to go along!!

Off to see Billy and Ray tonight at Blackwood. I saw the full Billy Mitchell Band do the show the first time round, but I'm really looking forward to tonight's show. Hoping to see my good friends Caroline and Kevin Harry as well.

I saw the show at Leamington Assembly Rooms a few weeks back now . As customary for my recent Lindisfarne related experiences I arrived just in time for the last number of the first set  ! A nice show but ,it has to be said .not too well attended . I'd guess about 120 there.
