|Lindisfarne, Bury St Edmunds
|I know that other social media has rather overtaken this forum these days, but since nobody's posted anything about the band's recent tour I thought I'd put that right!
The gig at Bury St Edmunds last Saturday night was a sell out although on the night, there were probably around 20 seats empty, but it's great to see the band can sell out at several venues on a tour. The Apex at Bury is a pleasant modern auditorium and seats about 500. This show had been postponed from October while Rod was rec ...
|It seems mind boggling, but it is now 15 years since 'Promenade' was released. I was playing it in my car this morning and I'm still impressed by how good it is. So many great songs and so many memories in what was to be the band's final studio album. 'This Guitar Never Lies' still gets my toes tapping and 'This Too Will Pass' still sends shivers down my spine.
|New Band Biography
|I see that a new Lindisfarne biography is about to be published. I know nothing about it or the author, other than this - posted on the Lindisfarne Official Facebook page today.
|Bass Cover of Winter Song by Waldo
|My thoughts always turn to Winter Song at this time of year and "Hmmm" for some reason the link to the previous post was wrong and the video was taken down for copyright reasons, so I have re-done the cover using a later version. Hopefully if you are interested you can hear it here:
|City Hall Gig 23rd
|Really Enjoyed the show last night, 1st half was ok , But it got a lot better in the 2nd half of the show. every body on their feet singing and clapping along.Good to see Charlie playing guitar as he seems to be having a few breathing problems, Wishing him good luck with his health for the future. will have to book the 1st night next year as the sellers had sold out of most of the T Shirts and hoodies on the 23rd. 40 years of shows and it is still a good night of music.

|Old sheet music or songbooks
|Apologies for resurrecting this thread after so long but I went to see Lindisfarne last week for the first time since Alan Hull passed. I had resisted the temptation up to now as I didn't think the band could come up to my expectations without so many of the original members.
However, Dave Hull-Denholm was definitely channeling Alan and did an awesome job. It was great to hear those fantastic songs performed live again and so well and it inspired me to add a few more Lindisfarne songs t ...
|A Concert For Heroes Film
|Directed by Ian Krause in 1986, the original footage of this important concert had laid untouched for 30 years. Including seminal performances from artists such as Lindisfarne, Paul Weller and Tom Robinson, this concert marked the launch of the ‘Heroes’ album, created to raise funds for the 625 miners sacked in the bitter dispute between the National Union of Mineworkers and the Thatcher governmen..
I bet Alan enjoyed it.
