Lindisfarne got a mention and a play on Ken Bruce's popmaster quiz today.  Unfortunately. the question was 'who was this footballer who recorded this with Lindisfarne?'.

The last time I heard a question about the band on a quiz  - I think it was on 'Eggheads' - it was also about that Gazza collaboration. Not very original at the BBC are they? Speaking of the beeb, they are using 'Meet Me On The Corner' as the theme song for the new sitcom 'Boy Meets Girl' which is set in Newcastle.

Sadly it's what many now remember Lindisfarne for...my son who is now in his early 30's only remembers them for the "Gazza song" which was around when he was in his teens or just before. I've since explained to him what the real essence of the band was about, have played him some of their stuff and he's now more appreciative. The next part of his education is to take him along to the L Story in a couple of weeks.

It also formed the subject of a question in the general knowledge round on 'Mastermind' a few days ago as well.

Just heard Rod's daughter Julia on one of Ken's contestants, and win, this morning - though she was one short on the 'three in ten' at the end.
