The book is just out. I had my complimentary copies from Fonthill this week and I think it looks great. Thanks to everyone on here for their interest and hope you enjoy it!

Excellent news. I see that Amazon are releasing in on 11th, but are offering a pre-order discount. I'm just about to press click.

(other shopping sites are available, and the author of this message takes no responsibility etc etc)

And mine arrived while I was away last week, providing a welcome on the doormat. It's now sitting on a pile of books-yet-to-be-read, next to the pile of CDs yet-to-be-listened too.

Reading this book has highlighted to me again just what a phenomenon Lindisfarne really were considering what they were doing musically against a backdrop of early seventies music and the likes of Donny Osmond, Sweet  and Gary Glitter et al.  They burned brightly for a short while (probably longer in the US) and it all became a jaded mess.  Some of the band were driven and some they were not (see what I did there) Its actually difficult to understand how they achieved what they did and even more difficult to understand why they split in two at the point where I suspect they were about to make big money.  This book is so good Iím taking my time to read every page slowly so as to not miss anything.   Highly recommended for any Lindisfarne fan.

Yeah, I enjoyed it too.

It's a good companion piece to Dave Hill's great biog.. lots of insights, and a few eyebrow-raising moments. Worth a look.
